110 golfers came out to enjoy a beautiful, if windy, day on the links while showing their support for the construction of our much-needed facility. In the end, every golfer went home with prizes and memories, while Hoʻōla Nā Pua raised over $13,000 to use towards the rehabilitation of our keiki.

The day began with Kiawe grilled burgers and hot dogs, thanks to donations from our sponsors. There was also a putting contest where one lucky golfer went home with a brand new wedge. After registration, the 27 teams took to the course to post some impressive (and not so impressive) scores. While we were not able to give away one of the Hole-In-One prizes this year, we did give away five prizes for our closest-to-the-pin and accurate drive contests.

At the banquet, the golfers were treated to a delicious buffet from Mid-Pacific Country Club. Tony Silva from Da Braddahs was our MC for the evening while Mrs. Hawaii International Tiare Lando and Mrs. Hawaii America Jessica Dentel helped to hand out prizes. In the end, every team went home with something and many individuals left with one of our countless donated door prizes including golf clubs and bags, gift certificates and packages, wine and whiskey, and even a 40” Sony flat screen television donated by Best Buy.

In the end, the tournament was a success on all accounts. A portion of every tournament fee went directly to Hoʻōla Nā Pua, and there were various opportunities for golfers to donate more throughout the day. And donate more they did. We sold many mulligan, putting contest, and door prize tickets. Seven new 1000 from 1000 donors signed up at the banquet. On top of the generosity of the golfers, we were fortunate to receive the support of some great sponsor companies who donated generous sums of money to make this tournament the success it was.

We want to offer our sincerest mahalo to First Hawaiian Bank, Y. Hata, Honolulu Tinting, and Structus Building for their sponsorships in this endeavor. Thanks to their generosity, our golfers’ support, and the kindness of the various donors and sponsors listed below, we are that much closer to realizing our goal of creating Hawai‘i’s first restoration home for victims of underage sex trafficking.  We also want to thank the golf tournament committee and numerous volunteers for all their hard work to make this event happen, all players for joining us in our mission to bring hope, healing, and renewal to girls who have been sexually exploited. They are already excited for next year (tentative date: April 25, 2016), so we hope to see you all there!
