Hawai’i Visitor Industry Charity Walk

Walkers like up at Starting Line.

Walkers line up at Starting Line.

Each year, the Hawai’i Lodging & Tourism Association sponsors a Charity Walk that seeks to benefit various non-profit organizations from across the state of Hawai’i.

People from the community can donate funds to the nonprofit of their choice, and then participate in the 5.25 mile Visitor Industry Charity Walk in their local area. On Oahu, thousands of eager walkers lined up at the Ala Moana Beach park early Saturday morning on May 21st at 7:00AM. The route took walkers down the Ala Wai Promenade, onto Kalakaua Avenue, through Waikiki, and back to the Ala Moana Beach Park. Along the way, walkers enjoyed complimentary snacks, drinks, and entertainment provided by Hawai’i hotels and partner organizations.

Ho’ola Na Pua was just one of dozens of nonprofits that benefited from the 2016 Visitor Industry Charity Walk. This year, a total of over $2 million was raised for local nonprofits across the state of Hawai’i, and over $425,000 was raised for local nonprofits here on our island of Oahu. Each year, funds raised from the Visitor Industry Charity Walk builds a healthier community of giving hearts in Hawai’i.
