A Busy Month for Hoʻōla Nā Pua

Hoʻōla Nā Pua has had an incredibly busy, action-packed start to 2015.

We have been fortunate to continue to see an influx of new, motivated volunteers dedicated to helping achieve our mission to provide a nurturing home that meets the unique needs of underage female sex trafficking victims through the utilization of individualized, comprehensive, and restorative therapies. If you’re interested in joining our team and learning about current volunteer opportunities, please visit https://hoolanapua.org/volunteer/.

Our President, Jessica Munoz, was invited to speak at the Organization of Women Leaders (OWL) luncheon at The Pacific Club in Honolulu on March 9th. The Organization of Women Leaders is a professional organization of women executives seeking to unite leaders of the public and private sectors in Hawai‘i. Jessica had the opportunity to educate attendees about the reality of sexual exploitation of children in Hawai’i and how female civic, business, and government leaders can play an active part in the renewal of these young victims.

That same night, we joined Hawaiʻi Says NO MORE at the launch of their new awareness campaign. Hawaiʻi Says NO MORE is the local version of an inspiring national initiative (NO MORE) that is focused on ending domestic violence and sexual assault by challenging the cultural mindset that leads to this type of violence against females in Hawaiʻi. You can follow and participate in the campaign on social media with the ‪hashtag #‎HawaiiSaysNOMORE‬.
