Courage. That’s what it took to face the truth that so many were unwilling to acknowledge—child sexual exploitation wasn’t just happening far away; it was happening right here, in our own backyard. It was the courage to say, “This is not okay,” and the faith to believe that something could be done to protect our keiki.

In the early days, those first advocates stood up and asked the hard questions: “How can we help these children? What can we do to prevent this from happening?” It was an act of faith—believing that with courage and a unified effort, change was possible.
